Mill Tip: Working in Batches

Have you ever had a large review file that you’d like to break down to 3,000 or 5,000 records at a time? To pull a subset of records from a larger list, take the following steps:

  • Highlight an empty review file that handles only 3 or 5,000 records
  • Click on “Search Records”
  • Choose your record type
  • Switch from “Range” to “Review”
  • Select your larger review file from the list
  • Click on “Search”

The system will pull the first 3 or 5,000 records into the new list. They will remain in the larger list until you remove them. You may do so by highlighting the appropriate amount and clicking the “Remove” button at the top of your original list. You will then be ready to repeat the process and extract the next batch.

Mill Tip: Undo/Redo or Just Say No!

Have you ever made a mistake while editing a record and didn’t know how to fix it? Following are two easy shortcuts that will help. To UNDO your last action (you can cancel up to ten of your last editing actions):

Hold down the “CTRL” button and the “z” key
OR
Under “Edit” choose “Undo”

And to really confuse you - you can always REDO your most recent UNDO (you can cancel up to ten of your last “undo” actions):

Hold down the “CTRL” button and the “y” key.
OR
Under “Edit” choose “Redo”

But never fear - if all else fails just say “NO” when you close the record and the system asks if you want to save your changes!
