Mill Tip: Create a One Record List

Have you ever needed to create a list that contains only one record? For example, when sending OPALHelp your list of records to delete or working on a multi-volume set?

To create a review file containing one bib record, you would go into Create Lists, click on Search Records, and choose BIBLIOGRAPHIC as the record type. Instead of entering criteria in the form, you may enter the record number in both the “Start” and “Stop” fields for the “Range”. Click on “Search”.

This exercise works for all record types - just remember to adjust the record type when you begin filling out the form.

Mill Tip: Extract Your Items from a List of Bibs

Have you ever needed to pull the items from a review file containing bib records?

Here’s how:

  • Go into Millennium Create Lists
  • Click on “Search Records”
  • Change Store Record Type to “ITEM”
  • Change “Range” to “Review” and select your review file containing bib records
  • Click on Search at the bottom of the form
  • Skip entering any further criteria, even when prompted by the system

Open your newly created review file by double clicking on the finished product. Its that simple!

INN-Reach Cleanup time!

June is typically the month to do annual INN-Reach cleanup. Has your library run this cleanup procedure? Tasks would include:

◦Generating and processing INN-Reach “too long” reports
◦Generating and processing Institutional Overdues reports
◦Annual PCIRC (i.e., OhioLINK) Clean-Up

If not, you can find guidance on performing the task on the OPAL website:

INN-Reach Cleanup Instructions.
